Valeco Recruitment is partnering with a leading independent accountancy firm to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their growing team in either their Edinburgh or Dunfermline office.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a background in accountancy practice or professional services, who are looking to join a firm that values long-term client relationships, people-first culture, and offers genuine career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships, LLPs, and sole traders

  • Producing accurate management accounts and draft tax computations

  • Communicating effectively with clients and HMRC

  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure coordinated client service

  • Keeping up to date with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations

Candidate Requirements:

  • A few years’ proven experience preparing accounts within a practice or professional services setting

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and keen attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

  • Proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines

  • Organised, client-focused, and commercially aware
