Along with manufacturing, they also produce their own private label products for several prestigious clients of UK retailers and offer commercial binding expertise to many publishers.

Valeco Recruitment are delighted to bring to market a rare opportunity reporting directly into the Purchasing Manager for a Trainee Buyer to join their small, hands-on team.

• Starting salary between £22,000 - £25,000 depending on experience

What will you be doing?

• Communicating internally and externally and building up key relationships with stakeholders
• Analysing reports, identifying purchasing requirements and raising any relevant purchase orders
• Obtaining and maintaining up to date records for suppliers specifications, REACH certificates, FSC certificates and any others as requested and required
• Identify and minimise obsolete and slow-moving raw material stocks through annual or ad hoc disposal routines through discussions with other teams
• Maintaining updated supplier price lists
• Ensure purchase orders are confirmed and accurate
• Prepare monthly reports
• Monitor and improve suppliers’ performances through regular discussions and talking points coupled with other tasks that are required to be completed by the Purchasing Manager.

What do we require?

• Excellent exposure working on the MS Office Suite
• Be able to communicate and build up relationships with key stakeholders
• Team player, who is happy to roll up their sleeves coupled with managing your own workload
• Analytical and can learn and understand reports
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with deadlines
• Desirable knowledge of MRP/ERP system, however full training can be provided.
